Pothole Patrol

As you've probably noticed, a few sections of Cedar Brook's concrete streets are being replaced to make sure small cracks don't become big crevices over the freezing and thawing of winter. The cones and new concrete can certainly be an inconvenience, but I hope the project will be a brief one.

While the guys from B&W Co. are in our neighborhood, be careful driving past work areas. If you have any questions about the project, feel free to contact company president Terry Bryson at 402-393-2880. Once they pour a section of concrete, it usually takes about 5-7 days for it to cure before anyone can drive over it. But the weather can affect how long curing takes.

Happy Holidays!

It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving, winter and Christmas are almost here. Just a few weeks ago, we were all still mowing our lawns and worrying about weeds. And just as the seasons have started changing in our little corner of Omaha, we've also had a change in our homeowners association. Our current president, Jeff, is getting ready to move out of the neighborhood soon, so a new association president is taking over.

I'd like to thank Jeff for all his efforts to improve Cedar Brook while he was president. He probably didn't hear it often enough during his two years as president, but the neighborhood appreciates your work. Among other things, it was Jeff's idea to establish this virtual neighborhood bulletin board.

As the new president, I'd be happy to hear from any residents who have ideas for things the association might do to make sure Cedar Brook remains a great place to call home. You can reach me at the association e-mail address below.
