Fall in Cedar Brook

Greetings from your home owners' association:

I hope that everyone in the neighborhood had a good summer although it's hard to believe that fall is officially here already. I just wanted to send out a quick note on a few things.

Thanks to all of you for your support of the Cedar Brook home owners' association. I greatly appreciate that so many of paid your $35 dues promptly, so the association won't have to spend as much on additional notices.

If anyone in the neighborhood would like a copy of the association's covenants, please send me an e-mail, and I'll be glad to forward an electronic copy of them. If you have any questions about the association or ideas about how to improve it, feel free to drop me an e-mail.

One suggestion that I have heard from several neighbors is the idea of holding a neighborhood get together or cook-out of some sort. I think this could be a lot of fun and a great way to get to know neighbors, but I'm not sure what kind of interest there would be in such an event. Please let me know if you think this might be a good idea to put together and whether you might like to help with such an event.

Also, I recently heard from a neighbor who was concerned about the sometimes crowded streets in our neighborhood because of parked cars. I'm sure we're all familiar with the inconveniences of weaving our way around the cars and having to wait for oncoming traffic. But as this neighbor pointed out, the parked cars could also create a safety hazard because of all the children who play in our neighborhood. And in some people's eyes, a glut of cars in the street might detract from our neighborhood's value. So please consider parking in your driveway or garage whenever possible.

Cheers,
Josh
