Cedar Brook News Letter 2nd Edition, 2nd Qtr 2014

CEDAR BROOK NEWSLETTER; 2nd Edition, 2nd qrt 2014
Hello Cedar Brook!

We hope this newsletter finds you all well and you had a wonderful holiday season. Now who is ready for SPRING???!!???

First order of business…. Caring for Cedar Brook Committee Have you noticed the lighting at the front entrance? Our beautiful Cedar Brook entrance is once again lit up at night. It looks great!

Like we stated in the previous newsletter, the front entrance will be a high priority this spring. More plans are in motion to make the entrance look even better and anyone interested in helping with this please email the HOA at cedarbrookhoa@gmail.com.

Even if you could not make it to the spring clean up, now is a good time to get out and see what the brunt of winter has done to your property. Try to get out there and get problem areas fixed and maintained.

Some helpful hints for property upkeep…
• pick up litter and trash • holiday decorations taken down
• sweep up sand and gravel in the street in front of your drive
• pick up any dog poop

We are going to be introducing a “YARD OF THE YEAR” contest this year. Yards will be judged throughout the spring and summer, to be announced at the beginning of fall. Keep those yards up and looking great and you could be in the running for YARD OF THE YEAR!

Finally, if you are having trouble keeping up with your mowing, the HOA has a list of available teenagers that are looking for some mowing business. Please email us at cedarbrookhoa@gmail.com for more information and we can get you connected with these kids. It would be a great experience for the kids and could save you some time and money!

Second Order Of Business…… Neighborhood Watch

With spring, comes lots of outdoor playtime for kids and pets of all ages. We are a little community and we all need to look out for one another. If you see anything or anyone that seems suspicious, please feel free to contact the HOA. If it is very serious situation, of course call 9-1-1.

We are looking to put together a Neighborhood Watch Committee/Group. Anyone interested in this, please email the HOA at cedarbrookhoa@gmail.com

Parents please be sure to talk to your kids about “Stranger Danger. No adult should need directions or need to address questions to a child.
Things you can discuss with your kids….
• do not talk to strangers • do not accept gifts of any kind
• do not help a stranger look for a lost puppy
• stay in groups • run away from a stranger and run straight home
• having a code word if they need to be picked up by someone other than you

Some other points of focus for safety and concerns….
• wear helmets when riding a bikes, skateboards, roller blades etc.
• please be aware of your speed when driving through the neighborhood
• when walking with your dogs, please be sure they are on a leash. And again, please pick up after your dogs.
