Termite Alert!

Cedar Book resident and Realtor with NPDodge, Kit Pflaum, lives on Nebraska Avenue near the dead end and playground equipment. She recently discovered her house is suffering from a termite infestation.

Through considerable effort and the expenditure of Kit's own time, she has researched this matter and has discovered a number of other homes on the south side of Nebraska Avenue have also been affected (specifically, those homes in and east of the roundabout).

Kit will be speaking about this issue on "The Real Estate Reality Hour" which airs live each Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am on News Talk Radio 1290 KKAR. Please tune in tomorrow morning for details.

CBHOA recommends you contact LEIN Termite & Pest Control as well as Mr. Kevin Holdorf (State of Nebraska) for a free inspection and to get more information on what may become a class action lawsuit -involving the whole neighborhood- against the pest control contractor Hearthstone used for the pre-construction termite chemical application when Cedar Brook was first developed.

Kit Pflaum can be reached at: (402) 740-2365.

Keepin' Kids Alive!

Did you know motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children aged 2-14 years, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration?

Cedar Brook HOA has invested in a number of 'KEEP KIDS ALIVE, DRIVE 25' yard signs. Look for them to be prominently displayed in neighborhood yards soon.

These signs are a community initiative to foster cooperation among neighbors and, importantly, they will keep area children safer.

Most speeders in neighborhood developments are people who live there. Please, let's all do our part to slow down and make it a safe and happy summer for everyone.

The CBHOA appreciates the manner in which most residents maintain their properties with tidy landscaping and well groomed yards.

Two residents recently donated three hours of their time to weeding, picking up trash, raking mulch, pruning trees, and fertilizing bushes in the entrance island at 132nd and Nebraska Avenue as well.

Thank you all for working hard to keep our neighborhood beautiful!

Please consider volunteering your time to serve the HOA in an official capacity. By returning your contact information and an indication of interest with your dues, we can arrange for our first Association meeting in a very long time.

In turn, homeowners can discuss neighborhood issues and we can get more people involved in the decision making process relative to CBHOA business.

Thanks in advance for your stewardship!
